There, she worked as a PA in different film productions and discovered her true passion: cinematic storytelling. Back in Hamburg, she studied Visual Communication where her teachers Wim Wenders and Fatih Akin encouraged her to develop her own unique voice as a film-maker. Her graduation film – a feature-length doc about modern Jewish musicians in N.Y.C. – was screened at several international festivals, won numerous awards and was finally broadcast at the Franco- German TV channel arte.

It wasn't long before Wendla started shooting her first commercials, combining all her skills to tell stories about real people, with a great sense of rhythm and images that are strong, poetic and surprising all at once. Wendla's work with her protagonists – whether it's garbage men, pastors, train conductors or actors – is always straight to the heart. Her special gift is to create authentic encounters for the audience, and commercials of incredible humanity and great comic tonality.

Among her clients are LinkedIn, Gillette, VW, RWE, BRAUN, 8x4 and the protestant church.

Wendla recently finished her second feature-length doc, 'Make Me A Match', about Jewish-Orthodox singles and their matchmakers in Jerusalem, distributed by an Israeli world sales. Currently, she is in the process of developing two original feature films.
